Neat idea: Calendar navigation with mouse gestures

Many modern applications have navigation methods that involve mouse gestures. One great example is the Firefox web browser. Mouse gestures literally eliminate mouse clicks by taking mouse movement itself as input.  These applications constantly monitor your mouse movements and look for one that might be a deliberate shape.  Depending on this shape, it will do different things.

One easy to understand example is a circle. Let’s say if you draw a circle clockwise, the calendar goes forward a month, but if you draw the circle counter-clockwise, it goes back a month. I haven’t investigated how challenging this is to program (or if there are packages out there that already do this) but it would certainly be a neat addition. And eliminating clicks is usually a good thing.
